Dealing with languages is different in Dotnetnuke version 5.x. You can see language Options on the Admin menu. For users who are familiar on previous versions of DNN might be confused how to enable other languages than default on Dnn. On the host Menu as on previous version you can see Languages sub menu. From there you can add another language option. On Previous versions on dnn the text shown on the front end for language bar cannot be changed easily. But DNN 4.9 is a step ahead to customize your own friendly language name for each language. You can specify the friendly language that you are going to display for the frond end users. After you add new language from the host->Languages menu that will not be display immediately on the portal. You have to enable for each portal on your DNN. Now its time to enable your newly created language on portal. On Admin main menu you can see Extensions sub menu. Go there and you will see the extension for you newly created lanague. Just change the settings to enable for your portal. Now you will able to see you new flag (icon) on your portal.
